January 24th, 2018 Philly Chapter Social Event: Night Out at Urban Axes Philadelphia

Come enjoy an exciting night out for our first social event of the year -- at Urban Axes Philadelphia. Come try your hand at the sport of axe throwing, in an urban environment! Axe throwing as an indoor competitive sport has taken off in Canada over the past decade. Similar to darts, axe throwing is an individual sport played with and against other members of a group. Individuals throw 1.5 lb. hatchets at wooden targets marked with a bullseye and score points based on where on the target they stick the axe. All events start with safety instructions and 1-on-1 throwing practice, led by fully trained coaches in a private throwing area. We will have two "waves" of groups -- the first starting out at 5pm & second at 6pm. Each group "wave" will last about 2.5 hours and will include initial training following by a round robin tournament and a final knock-out round to award an axe-throwing champion. ** Please be sure to register above, based on your desired group tour start time & membership category.

As a benefit to our PAID chapter members, this event is complimentary. For UNPAID or NON-MEMBERS, there will be a charge of $45.00. Admission includes entrance fee to venue, as well as light snacks & beer/wine provided by our Philly Chapter. Attire is relaxed casual (ok to wear jeans & loose shirt is recommended) and closed-toe shoes are mandatory. Please refer to venue website (listed above) for further information and parking.
